In the University of Virginia article Biomedical Engineering Study Demonstrates the Healing Value of Magnets, Professor Thomas Skalak's study cites the use of magnets increases the blood flow to support healing. Professor Skalak was awarded a grant from the National Institute of Health Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to study magnetic therapy in 2008 and will continue with his research on magnetic therapy through 2013.
The Texas-Medical.com link provides many articles supporting the effectiveness of magnetic therapy. Included in the articles is the Baylor University Study conducted by Dr. Vallbona who, fascinated by his personal experience using magnets to heal knee pain, conducted a study on post polio syndrome patients which concluded the significance in magnets in managing the pain. The magnets used had a gauss rating (the unit measurement of a magnets strength) slightly stronger than a refrigerator magnet.
The United States Sports Academy Published an article titled “Magnetic Therapy and Athletic Performance “ shedding light on the use of magnetic therapy in sports.
NASA invented a boot for astronauts to wear with magnets recognizing the healing
benefits of magnetic therapy.
In developing the HelioPro bracelet we consulted with Dr. William Pawluc M.D., M.Sc., who is internationally renown for his work and treatment with magnetic therapy and Michelle Hamilton, Lic. Acupuncturist, MAOM and Faculty member of the New England School of Acupuncture. Ms. Hamilton incorporates magnetic therapy in treatments with her patients for inflammatory issues, sports injuries, stroke victims and a host of other medical conditions. We consulted with Dr. Pawluc and Ms. Hamilton to ensure that the HelioPro bracelet met with the standard of excellence we required to launch our product. Visit Dr. Pawluc’s website to learn more about magnetic therapy. HelioPro LLC’s consultation with Dr. Pawluc was a paid consultation fee and in no way represents an endorsement of our product.
